Trophies

Trophies are “awards” configured specifically for an event. They define which participants can receive them according to different criteria within Copernico.

These trophies are displayed in the app, in the trophy widget, and in the trophy presets, which can also be inserted into documents.

Trophies allow the creation of independent classifications. You may publish overall rankings, gender rankings, category rankings or attribute-based rankings without needing to award trophies for all of them.

For example, an event may define age-based categories (M40, F40, M50, F50…). However, the organizer may choose to award trophies only to the top 3 male and top 3 female participants. In that case, only one trophy block based on gender would be created.

Trophies may be associated with the overall ranking, gender, categories, attributes and team types. In Copernico, teams must always be understood as team type. Participants who meet the requirements will be eligible for the corresponding trophies.

A common configuration includes trophies for:

  • The top 3 overall participants
  • The top 3 male and female participants
  • The top 3 participants in each category

The awards of a block can be cumulative or non-cumulative. With the Non-cumulative awards check box selected (the default), a participant can receive only one award of the block: the first one they win, from top to bottom. If you clear it, the same participant can receive several awards of the block (for example, the overall one and the category one).

1. Trophy blocks

Trophy blocks provide additional flexibility. For example, one block may include non-cumulative trophies, while another block may contain cumulative ones. A participant may receive one trophy from the first block and one from the second block if they meet the requirements.

2. How to create trophies

In the event awards section (Awards), complete the following fields:

  • Group Name.
  • Non-cumulative awards check box: keep it selected if nobody should receive more than one award of the block; clear it to allow it.

For each trophy:

  • Name: the name of the trophy.
  • Split: determines which split is used to calculate the times. You may create trophies based on specific splits, such as a hill climb.
  • Amount: the number of participants or teams included in the trophy (3 by default).
  • Type of award: General, Gender, Category, Attribute or Team type.
  • Result mode: official time (Gun time) or net time (Chiptime). In this article you can learn how to configure net time trophies.
  • Trophy detail: appears when the type is not General. Select the gender, category, attribute or team type here.

After configuring the trophies, click Save in the race configuration.

You can also create several awards at once with the Create action of the quick actions menu of the block's award list (Award List). More information in Quick actions menu.

An award can also move its winners to another category with the Promote Category check box in its Advanced editor. More information in Promote categories.

3. Where are trophies displayed?

Trophies are displayed both in the Live platform and in the rankings, each with its own dedicated section.
