Attribute configuration

An attribute is an extra feature applied to athletes to get rankings, such as for athletes in a federation or “local”. In order to obtain rankings from attributes you must first set them up.

💡 If you are not going to draw a ranking from a specific attribute, for example, "T-shirt size", it is not necessary to create the corresponding attribute. You can import it in the CSV and you will have it available in the "Participants" section to consult, filter, etc. You only need to create attributes for those fields from which you are going to get a ranking.

In order to obtain rankings from attributes you first have to set them up.

Simple use of attributes

You can create an attribute and indicate if the runners meet it or not to create a classification with those that do. In our example we will create an attribute that allows creating a classification for federated runners.

  1. Display the event for which you want to configure the attributes.
  2. Display the “Attributes” section
  3. To create attributes you can click on “+ Add” button, but you can also open the creation menu and import them from another race that you have in Copérnico and you can paste attributes from another event within the same race with the edit buttons: cut, copy and paste.

  4. Give the attribute a name. In our example the name will be “Federated”.
  5. Click on “Add” in the “Options” section to create a value.
  6. In the field “Value” enter the value that you will use in your excel to differentiate the federated. In our example, the value is “Yes”.

💡You can delete an attribute using the trash can icon.

When importing runners you must create a column with the name of the attribute assigned to the runners who fulfill the value.

In our example we will create a column with the name “Federated” in which we will put in value “Yes” to those federated runners. With this information, Copérnico will create a classification for all the runners with the value “Yes” in the column “Federated”.

Advanced use of attributes

The attributes have a lot of versatility when it comes to using them. This allows you to use an attribute with more than one value. In our example we will create an attribute that allows to create a classification by profession.

  • In the field “Name” we will put “Profession”.
  • In the field “Value” we will include the different professions for which we want to obtain a classification. You can create as many values as you need by clicking on “Add”. In this case we have created three values: “Police” and “Fireman”.

For our example, when importing the runners we will create a column with the name “Profession” in which we will indicate the profession of each athlete from the values created. With this information, Copérnico will create the following classifications.

  • A classification of all the athletes that in the “Profession” column have the value “Police”
  • A classification of all the athletes that in the “Profession” column have the value “Fireman”

With this configuration there can never be an athlete assigned to the classification of two professions.

💡If a participant does not meet any of the values of an attribute, it will be sufficient to leave that field blank in the import document. In our example, if a participant does not have one of the professions for which we want to obtain a classification, we will leave his cell in the “Profession” column blank.
