In a document, you can show the team ranking together with each team's participants by combining a team preset with a participant preset.
This article explains how to add a participant preset to a team ranking. For creating documents in general, see Creating and printing reports.
1. Before you start: create the presets
Before creating the document, you need two presets:
- Create a participant preset on the Participants screen: ideally a simple one: bib, name, overall position, time and pace, sorted by position and filtered to participants who have finished. Nothing too complicated. This is the one you will add to the team preset.
- Create a team preset on the Teams screen: same as the previous one, it can be something simple: position, team name and time, grouped by team type, sorted by position and filtered to teams that have a position (in the position column filter, select the Inverted and Search Empty check boxes).
On both screens, presets are managed from the List of presets panel. See Creating presets.
ℹ️ Note: the Teams screen only appears if an event in the race has team types set up. See Configuring types of teams.
2. Add the participant preset to the document
With these two tasks completed, the next steps are:
- Create the document on the documents screen (+ button, Create and Edit document panel) or open an existing one with Edit. See Creating and printing reports.
- In the designer, open the team presets panel (button with the group-of-people icon on the right-hand bar) and apply your team preset with the ✓ button.
- A window titled with the preset name opens, where Copernico asks Do you want to add participants to this preset? Click Add participants.
- In the list that appears, find the participant preset you prepared and apply it with the ✓ button. The team ranking table is added to the document together with the participant preset.
- If you only want the team ranking, click No thanks, continue with team preset only.
- Click Save and download the document as a PDF to print it.
ℹ️ Note: each team shows all its members who meet the participant preset's filters, not only those who score for the team; participants without a team are not shown. The row limit applied is the participant preset's, so if it has one, teams or members may be left out: for this use, leave it without a limit.
ℹ️ Note: in documents created with older versions of the editor, applying a team preset does not show the question and only the team table is added. Create a new document to combine teams and participants.
With these steps, the document will show the team ranking together with the participant preset you chose.
