Pre-race check

The pre-race check reviews the participants' data of the race and shows, per event and with a colour code, the issues that can affect the generation of times and positions.

ℹ️ Note: the pre-race check of participants is carried out during the import. If you do not know yet how to carry out this import, read the article “Importing participants”.

1. Check when importing participants

When the import finishes, the import panel switches to the Last summary tab, where Copernico shows the result of the pre-race check: it reviews the participants' data of the race, marks its validity with colours and indicates any issue detected, separated by event (one tab per event).

In the same tab, the Auto-validate on participant changes checkbox makes the check run again automatically each time participant changes finish processing. The option is remembered in this browser.

2. Reviewing the check from Participants

ℹ️ Note: it is not necessary to correct the validation issues when you import the participants; you can always do so from Participants, with the Pre-race check button (clipboard icon) in the button column on the right. Review the issues from here: only on this screen does the See participants button filter the table.

The check panel shows one tab per event, with the issue blocks and the Validate again button.

ℹ️ Note: in the Organizer app, the pre-race check button is hidden by default; the timer can enable it in the organizer panel settings.

3. Colour code

The validation points made by Copernico have a colour coding.

  • Green: the event has no issues; the message All parameters are correct. is shown.
  • Yellow (Pending validations): there is an issue which will not prevent the participant from generating times.
  • Red (Pending critical validations): there is an issue which will prevent the participant from generating times and positions: participants without a tag, without an event or with a wrong event, without a wave or with a wrong wave, or with an empty or wrong gun time mode.

4. Correcting the issues

Each issue shows how many cases there are (N issues), and each event tab shows in brackets how many checks have issues. Click See participants next to the issue: the Participants table is filtered to show only the affected participants, and you can correct them by editing their information.

When you have made the corrections, click Validate again to run the check again and confirm that the issues are gone. Changes to participants are saved when you edit them.

If you need more information about editing participants, you can consult this article.
