The Devices section in my.timingsense.com allows you to manage and monitor timing devices —including BLUEAPP devices— from a single area of the portal.
This article describes in detail its four main screens: My Devices, Device Telemetry, Device Exports and Devices Dashboard, explaining what each one does, how to access it, and what actions can be performed.
Devices Dashboard is an independent view designed for real-time monitoring.
1. My Devices. Inventory.
This is the main screen and the starting point of the entire Devices section. It shows the full list of timing devices associated with the client company, including a counter indicating how many devices match the active filters at any given time.
Information shown for each device
- Name: device name or label.
- Type: device type (for example, BLUEAPP used in active systems).
- ID / Serial: unique device identifier.
- Status: Enabled / Disabled.
⚠️ The Enabled status indicates that the device is authorized to operate (for example, exporting data or being rented), but it does not indicate that it is powered on or connected at that moment. To check the real-time status, the Devices Dashboard must be used.
Available actions
- Search devices by name or identifier.
- Filter by status (Enabled, Disabled or All).
- Filter by device type.
- Sort by any available column.
- Configure the number of visible rows per page (the preference is saved automatically).
- Refresh the device list from the server.
- Clear active filters.
Access to related functionalities
Each device has an actions menu (“⋯”) that allows access to specific functionalities:
- Telemetry: opens the Device Telemetry view for that device.
- Exports: opens Device Exports.
- Rentals: shows the device rental history.
The rental history includes information such as:
- Entity or customer who made the rental.
- Start and end dates (from / to).
- Rental creation date.
It is only possible to cancel a rental or remove the device from a rental if:
- The status is “Accepted”.
- The end date is in the future.
2. Device Telemetry. DRILL-DOWN.
Device Telemetry is a detailed view that shows what a timing device has measured over time.
It does not appear in the main menu: it is always accessed from My Devices by selecting a specific device.
Available query methods
- By session: list of capture sessions sorted from most recent to oldest. The active session appears pinned at the top.
- By time range: allows selecting a time range, including quick options such as last hour, last 24 hours or last 7 days, as well as custom ranges.
Detail panel
- Overview: general summary of the selected session or range.
- Metric tabs: generated dynamically based on the data reported by the device. Not all devices provide the same metrics.
- Comparison: allows comparing multiple compatible metrics (same unit) in a single chart or separating them for individual analysis.
3. Device Exports
Where readings are sent.
Device Exports is the section for viewing and managing the destinations to which a timing device sends its readings.
This is a drill-down accessible from My Devices.
An export represents a configured destination, such as an HTTP endpoint that receives chip readings in real time.
Displayed information
- Export type and identifier.
- Lifecycle status: future, current, finished or deleted.
- Enabled / Disabled status.
- Number of applied filters.
- Operating date range (from / to).
Available actions
- Search and filter exports.
- Refresh data.
- Enable or disable exports (not available for finished or deleted exports).
- Check performance statistics.
- Download readings in CSV format.
Download readings
The download dialog includes:
- Form preloaded with the export date range.
- Option to include filters (if the export has them).
- Chip encoding selection (Inherit, Simple or Extended).
The download is performed in batches, showing real-time progress, and can be cancelled at any time.
4. Devices Dashboard. Real Time.
Which devices are timing right now.
Devices Dashboard is an independent view designed for real-time monitoring of timing devices during a competition.
Unlike My Devices, only devices that are actively exporting data at that moment appear here.
A device that is not exporting will not appear in this view, even if it is Enabled.
Main features
- Automatic real-time updates without needing to reload the page.
- Automatic reconnection in case of connection loss.
- Grouping of devices by export (consumer + competition).
- A device may appear multiple times if it is sending data to multiple competitions.
Information shown per device
- Connectivity status.
- Number of active antennas.
- WAN connection type (e.g., Ethernet).
- Battery level.
- Device temperature.
- Number of active exports.
- Status.
Available interaction
- Filter by competition or consumer.
- Collapse or expand device groups.
- Access a device detail panel, with:
- Current Status: live metrics.
- Current Session: telemetry of the current session.
- Exports: delivery statistics (in progress).
