In this video we show you how to assign a chip with the Workflows plugin.
This article explains how to configure a workflow in copernico to assign a tag during the race expo or bib collection. This process ensures quick, secure and operator‑friendly tag assignment. 🚀
Contents
Introduction
This workflow allows you to assign a tag (chip) to a bib and validate the process in a structured way. It is ideal for operators working at the expo without requiring full access to copernico.
Workflow setup
To create a new workflow, click Add at the top of the screen and configure the following sections.
PIN configuration
The PIN works as a password for accessing the workflow. You can share the workflow link with operators, and only those with the PIN can use it.
Query configuration
The query defines how the participant will be searched. In this example, two fields are used:
- Identification (ID)
- Registration (entry number)
Each field includes these options:
- Autofocus: places the cursor automatically in that field.
- Scannable: enables QR or barcode scanning.
Displayed information
After the search, the workflow will show the selected participant information:
- Bib
- Name
- Surname
- Identification
Action configuration
The action defines what operation is executed. In this workflow, the action is Assign tag, which links a tag to the participant’s bib.
Optional confirmation
You may enable a confirmation step to verify data before completing the action. You can include fields such as:
- Bib
- Tag
- Name
- Surname
- Identification
A timeout can also be configured so the workflow resets automatically after completion.
Workflow usage
The workflow operates in three steps:
- Enter or scan the identification or registration number.
- Review the participant information.
- Assign the tag and confirm (if confirmation is enabled).
