TS2+ conections to internet and cloud

This article explains how to connect to the TS2+ timing device via its internal Wi‑Fi network and how to configure an external Wi‑Fi network for use at sporting events.

Introduction

The TS2+ includes its own Wi‑Fi access point, allowing direct connection from a mobile phone, tablet, or computer 📱💻.

This connection is required to access the timing device’s web interface and to configure the external Wi‑Fi networks it will later connect to.

Important considerations

  • The TS2+ is a router itself, so it can provide connectivity to other devices.
  1. Ethernet RJ45: a device with GSM/Wi‑Fi/Ethernet can provide internet to the TS2+ by connecting the cable to the IN port.
  2. Via Ethernet cable it can also provide internet to a PC.
  3. Wi‑Fi: thanks to its independent antennas, the timing device can connect to a Wi‑Fi network (office, MiFi, Starlink) and at the same time broadcast a network for other devices connected to it.
  • On first startup, while the timing device does not have internet access, the devices connected to its Wi‑Fi will also have no browsing 🌐.
  • It is recommended to use networks with good signal strength ✅.

Prerequisites

  • The TS2+ timing device must be powered on and have sufficient battery.
  • Mobile phone, tablet, or computer with Wi‑Fi.
  • Be physically close to the device.
  • Know the name and password of the external Wi‑Fi network to be configured.

Connecting to the TS2+ Wi‑Fi

  1. Open the Wi‑Fi settings on your device.
  2. Look for a network with a name similar to TS2P‑XXXX.
  3. Password: 12341234.
  4. Connect to the network.
  5. If the system indicates there is no Internet access, accept the connection anyway ⚠️.

Note: It is normal for this network to have no Internet access. Its purpose is to allow configuration of the timing device.

Accessing the web interface

  1. Connect to the TS2+ Wi‑Fi.
  2. Open a web browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari…).
  3. Enter the following address:
http://ts2p.timingsense.com

The Dashboard will be displayed with information about connectivity, battery, temperature, and power source.

External Wi‑Fi network configuration

  1. Press the menu icon .
  1. Select Wi‑Fi.
  2. Press SCAN AVAILABLE NETWORKS (it may be necessary to repeat).
  1. Select the desired network.
  2. Enter the password and confirm.

When the connection is correct, the status will change to Connected ✅.

Connection verification

  • The Wi‑Fi section will appear as CONNECTED.
  • The active connection interface will be indicated.
  • The assigned IP address will be displayed.
Note: The internet connection LED on the device will be shown in GREEN.

Connection via RJ45 network cable

The TS2+ timing device uses dynamic IP to facilitate connection.

  1. Connect the Ethernet cable to the IN port.
  2. Access the dashboard from the device’s Wi‑Fi.
  3. Verify the assigned IP.
Note: The internet connection LED on the device will be shown in RED.

GSM connection

The TS2+ timing device allows internet connection via SIM card.

  1. Remove the microSIM tray.
  2. Insert the card.
  3. Verify GSM connectivity.
Note: The internet connection LED on the device will be shown in BLUE.

Connectivity priorities

Within the dashboard, the primary connection cannot be selected; there is a connection hierarchy:

  1. Ethernet: highest priority.
  2. Wi‑Fi: second priority.
  3. GSM / Mobile data: only if the above are not available.
