Recovering stored readings from the TS2+

This article explains how to recover the readings stored on a TS2+ timing device, either from its web interface or using a USB-C flash drive, and how to import them into Copernico.

This procedure applies to TS2+ timing devices.

ℹ️ Note: The TS2+ device sends all pending readings when it connects to the cloud, even after it has been restarted. If you are using Copernico or TSConnector, use the cloud-based rewind function in these cases. Copernico Cloud Rewind.

1. Which readings are downloaded

There are two ways to recover the readings stored on the TS2+: from the device's web interface or by connecting a USB-C flash drive. In both cases, the export system downloads the same readings:

  • The readings from the current session, both those already recorded and those being recorded live.
  • The readings from the last 12 sessions of the timing device that contain at least one reading.

A new session is created every time the device is powered on or restarted. It does not matter when those sessions took place: a year ago, a month ago or that same day.

ℹ️ Example: if you restarted the device 10 times in one day, you created 10 sessions. If those 10 sessions each contain at least one reading, those 10 sessions will be downloaded, plus the 2 previous sessions with readings.

2. Method 1: download from the web interface

Connect to the device

Connect to the TS2+ timing device as described in the TS2+ user manual: join the device's TS2+ Wi-Fi network and open http://ts2plus.local/ in your browser.

Download the readings

  1. In the side menu of the web interface, click Reader.
  2. In the Readings panel, click the download icon (⤓) in the top-right corner.
  3. An Excel file containing the readings stored on the device will be downloaded.

3. Method 2: download via USB-C

Connect a USB-C flash drive to the timing device's USB-C port. The readings will be downloaded to the drive automatically.

The USB-C port is number 8 in the hardware components image of the TS2+ manual guide:

TS2+ hardware components; the USB-C port is number 8

4. File format

The downloaded file contains one reading per row, in the following format:

Column Example Description
1 1, 2, 3… Incremental reading number.
2 4528 Tag code.
3 1 / 2 Reading type (1 = first detection, 2 = passing summary).
4 3 Antenna that took the reading.
5 -80.50 Received signal strength (RSSI), in dBm.
6 1 / 19 / 45 Number of times the tag was read during that passing.
7 2026-10-21T10:05:35.176Z Date and time of the reading, in UTC.
8 E28011B0A5050075E53B Full tag code (EPC) in hexadecimal.

5. Import the readings into Copernico

The downloaded file can be imported directly into the Readings tab in Copernico. If you are not sure how to do this, see this article.

6. Notes

⚠️ Important: the time returned in the file is in UTC. If you work with software that uses local time, you will need to adjust it to your time zone.

Using either method, you will have the readings stored on the TS2+ in a file ready to import into Copernico.
