Copernico Video APP (Quick Start)

 

 

Note: Video-repeat must be enabled in Copernico for it to be visible in Live APP, Live Web, and Copernico. In the following article, we explain how to enable it.

 

Installation and login

Download the copernico Video app (Android only).

Enter your email and password and tap Login.

Default password: timingsense / copernico

Accept camera and microphone permissions 🎥🎤

 

Race list

  • Today
  • Upcoming
  • Past

 

Company selection

Select the company you will work with.

 

Settings

  • App version
  • Device name
Note: We recommend renaming the device, since the manufacturer's generic name is used by default.

 

 

Race and location selection

Select race and location.

⚠️ Only races in Today can be streamed.

 

 

 

Streaming mode

  • Stream (MUX upload)
  • Local (offline)

 

Streaming configuration

  • Resolution
  • Framerate
  • Bitrate (recommended 4 Mbps)

 

 

Select Orientation

 

 

In the next window, you can preview and adjust the camera settings.

 

 

 

Once you have adjusted the camera, click “Start” to begin recording.

Once recording has started, the following information appears on the screen:
- Recording: Indicates whether the device is recording.
- Duration: The amount of time the device has been recording.
- Segment (Chunk): The number of segments in the video. This cannot be configured.
- Settings: Indicates how often segments (chunks) are created. This cannot be configured.
- Reduced brightness: Copernico Video reduces the screen brightness to improve battery life.

 

If you want to stop recording, just tap “Stop.”

 

 

Local recording settings

 

Enable local recording mode and configure:

  • Resolution
  • Frame rate
  • Bitrate (Mbps)

Tap “Start Local Recording.”

 

 

Start recording

Select the orientation: portrait or landscape.

 

 

 

Start recording

On the next screen, the camera will open so you can start recording. Tap the blue button to start recording.

 

 

 

While recording, you can check:

  • Battery level
  • Connection type
  • Recording mode
  • Duration of the current clip.

 

 

 

Note: Once the local recording has finished, Copernico Video must process the video in order for it to be saved correctly.
The processing time will depend on how long the video was recorded.

 

 

Past recordings

Once a recording is complete, it will appear in the Takes tab. From there, you can upload the video to MUX using the “Upload to Cloud” button. You can also perform other actions, such as checking the status of the upload to the cloud (MUX).

 

 

Also, if you click on the menu button

 

 

Different options for working with the videos will be displayed:

 

  • View video
  • Reprocess chunks. These are the segments the video is divided into so that it can be “associated” with each participant. 
  • Upload pending chunks. If any chunks haven't been uploaded to the cloud, you can upload them from this menu.

Note for Android users: The first time you start a live stream, the app will redirect you to Do Not Disturb. Turn it on to avoid interruptions from calls or notifications. 📵
