Disqualifying a participant changes their status to Disqualified. From the same menu you can also mark them as Withdrawn or Quarantine. More information in Athlete status.
ℹ️ Note: the status menu is only shown when a specific event is selected in the participants table. It is not shown with All events.
1. How to disqualify a participant
- In Participants, select the participant's event in the table.
- Locate the participant you want to disqualify.
- Right-click any field of the participant and, in the Status menu, select Disqualified.
- The Participant Status Change window opens, showing how many participants change, the Target status and a summary of the events it applies to. If the race has stages, choose whether the change applies to one stage (Single event) or several (Multiple events).
- Click Save.
2. How to revert the disqualification
You can revert this change in the participant's status in two ways:
- Right-click any field of the participant and, in the Status menu, select Change to original status. The status it will go back to, the one Copernico calculates from their times, is shown in brackets; for example, Change to original status (Not started). This option only appears if the status was changed manually.
- Delete the issue created by the change by clicking the trash can icon. You can do this from the participant's context menu, in Participant's issues, or from the Issues panel in the right-hand bar, which lists all the issues of the race. Copernico asks for confirmation in the Deletion confirm window (“Are you sure to remove the issue? This can't be undone.”): click Remove. When the issue is deleted, the participant returns to their original status. For more information about issues, see Managing issues.
ℹ️ Note: to change the status of several participants at once, select them while holding Ctrl and right-click the selection.
✅ Recommendation: write the reason for the disqualification in the Comments field when editing the participant. More information in Editing participants.
