You can show each participant's country (their flag) both in Live and in online rankings. In the rankings publication, the country is shown in one of the columns.
To do this, first import each participant's nationality into the Copernico Nationality field, as a 2-letter ISO country code (e.g. ES), a 3-letter ISO code (ESP) or an IOC code (ESP). If the column in your file is called “Nacionalidad” or “Nationality”, Copernico maps it automatically on import; otherwise, map it manually (see Importing participants).
If the codes have been imported correctly, the flag and the country name are shown.
If a participant does not have a valid country code, their flag is not shown. To find participants without a nationality, in the participants list filter the Nationality column by empty values (the filter shows as “Search entries without a value Nationality”) and edit each one to complete the Nationality field.
It is important that the codes are imported correctly; otherwise, the country will not appear in rankings or in Live.
1. Live
In Live, if the field has been imported into Copernico, no additional steps are required. If the code is correct, the flag and the country name are shown in the official language of that country.
2. Rankings
For nationality to appear as an additional column in the rankings, it must be among the published fields. These fields are set in Publish Configuration in the Rankings tab of the race settings, in Custom mode:
- Open the event and, in Template, choose Custom mode. With Auto, the default mode, this form is not shown.
- In each ranking family, go to Publish Configuration › Fields and add an item with Field Source = Participant and Name = Nationality. Repeat this in every family where the country should be shown.
- Save the changes.
The ranking definitions preview (Preview ranking definitions, eye icon) shows which fields are published in each ranking.
