Connecting ChronoTrack devices to Copernico

This video explains how to send readings from your ChronoTrack timing devices to Copernico with the Timingsense Copernico Passing Hub program.

The program receives the readings that the ChronoTrack software sends (Direct Socket Out) and forwards them to the Copernico race you choose.

Hello. In this video we are going to explain how to send readings from your ChronoTrack devices to Copernico. The Copernico Passing Hub program is responsible for making the connection between your ChronoTrack devices and Copernico. These are the elements of the program you should know about:

  1. Number of connected clients: how many ChronoTrack devices you have connected at the moment.
  2. The number of readings received by the program.
  3. The number of readings sent to Copernico.
  4. Readings in the queue. If there are readings that remain permanently in the queue, check the names of the timing points.

To connect a ChronoTrack device with Copernico, follow these steps:

  1. Run the Copernico Passing Hub program and configure the port on which you will receive the readings. The default port is 61611.
  2. Click the Play icon.
  3. The program will ask you for your Timingsense cloud username and password so that you can select the race to send the readings to. Remember that the race must be created so that you can connect to it.
  4. Turn on the ChronoTrack device and connect it through its native software. In Copernico, the ChronoTrack device appears named with the digits of the MAC that identify the client. When connecting a device, keep in mind that the location of the ChronoTrack timing devices always appears in capital letters.
  5. In the main menu, click the Direct Socket Out tab. Enter the same port as in Copernico Passing Hub and start the reading process by clicking the Play button.

Copernico Passing Hub will detect a linked device, and you will be able to see how the readings arrive and are sent to Copernico. If there are readings that remain in the queue permanently, check the names of the timing points and that they match the ones you created in the Timingsense cloud.
