Accessing the Copernico panel

Each company that uses Copernico has its own URL to access the timing software. To access the Copernico panel, you need to know your company's URL.

This article explains how to log in, what to do if the login screen shows an error and what you find in the panel after logging in.

1. Accessing the panel

Access the Copernico panel at https://yourcompanyname.app.copernico.cloud, replacing yourcompanyname with your company's identifier.

The same identifier is used for the test environment (https://yourcompanyname.demo.copernico.cloud; see Demo environment).

2. Logging in

The login screen shows "Welcome to Copernico" and greets you with your company name ("Hi company!"). This lets you check that you are at the right URL.

1. Enter your email in the Username field.
2. Enter your password in the Password field.
3. Click Log in.

If you do not remember your password, click Forgot your password? on the login screen. The Timingsense password change page opens; when you finish, you return to Copernico.

Copernico remembers your session in the browser: when you come back, you do not need to log in again until you click Log out.

3. Login problems

• If instead of the form you see the message "Remember to write yourcompanyname just here, in the browser url", the company identifier is missing from the URL.
• If you see "¡Oops! the company … is not active or does not exist", check the identifier or write to service@timingsense.com.
• If the email or password is wrong, the message "User or password incorrect" appears.
• Other possible messages are "Company doesn't exist.", "Users cannot access this company.", "Company is disabled." or "Negative balance.".

4. Account registration

The administrator of your company creates your user with your name and email (see Creating new users in Copernico). You will receive an email with a link to activate your account and set a password. After that, log in at your company's URL with your email and password.

5. Main menu

If you access as an administrator, you can manage all users in the company. Each user has their own documents and personalized presets, visible to others but categorized by username.

After logging in, the left menu gives access to:

• the races list (all users);
• credits usage (all users);
• user management (administrators only);
• available plugins (all users);
• at the bottom: bug reporting; help, which opens this help center; configuration (gear icon), with the default settings for new races and the interface language (User interface › Language); and Log out, which shows the email of the logged-in user.

In the demo environment only the races list is shown.

6. Races list

The Races screen shows your company's races grouped into Ongoing Races, This Week, Next races and Past races. From here you can search races, create one with Add competition (see Creating a race in Copernico) and, if you are an administrator, see your remaining credits.

7. Race menu

When you select a race, the menu changes to show the options for that race:

• Customizable dashboard.
• Race configuration (including tag sequencing).
• Participants, with the + button to add custom views.
• Teams (only if an event has team types).
• Readings.
• Documents.
• Action history.
• Plugins.
• Race options menu (⋯), for example to finish an event or promote categories.

8. Browser and API architecture

Copernico is a cloud platform optimized for use in Google Chrome. Although it can be accessed from other browsers, some functionalities may not be available.

Copernico is built as an API-oriented system. Its open architecture allows integrating external registration platforms and developing custom data exchange workflows.

9. Video transcript

Hello. In this video we're going to talk about accessing your Copernico account. Copernico is a cloud program and it is accessible with Google Chrome. You can use it with other browsers, but be aware that not all the features are available in browsers other than Google Chrome.

The first thing we'll ask you to do is go to the email we sent you with the login information. There you should be able to click to create a new password and activate your account. Once that's done, the next step is simply to log in: here you have your login screen; enter the username and password, and let's get started.

Now, inside Copernico, this is the main screen for races. On this side you have a different selection of options because you're an administrator; for example, you can go to users and manage the users from here. Each user is able to save their own documents and presets, but they'll be available to anybody in your company; it's simply organized by user.

Let's go to our main dashboard. Here you have your current races and, at the bottom, you would also have previous races. At the top you can add a competition or search for a previously created one if you have a lot of races. On the side we have races, credits, usage, users and plugins. At the bottom of the screen you can either report a bug if you're having an issue or access Timingsense Academy for help, and you can also log out of this user.

When you click on a race, it takes you to the race dashboard. On the side here you have different actions that are specific to your current section; for example, if you change to race, the actions change a bit. In the main menu you have dashboard, race configuration, participants, raw data, reports, Chip sequencing, log or race history, and plugins.

Copernico is 100% API-oriented, which means that it's an open system that can be integrated and customized. The biggest advantage here is probably that you can integrate it with any registration platform and also create sample data.
