Adding Sportmaniacs Live is as simple as linking the race from the Live plugin in Copernico.
To link the race, it must already exist in both Copernico and Sportmaniacs.
The date of the race to be linked in the Live must be after the date on which the action is being performed.
If you don’t know how to create a race in Copernico, see Creating a race in Copernico; you can also import it from Sportmaniacs.
If you don’t know how to create a race in Sportmaniacs, see Creating a race in Sportmaniacs.
1. Live activation in Copernico
Open the race Live plugin (from the plugins section or with the LIVE button in the race top bar).
If the Live is not enabled, click Enable LIVE service and confirm; note that this service has an additional fee. See Live Activation.
Once the Live is enabled, the race can be linked to an existing race in Sportmaniacs.
At this stage, the Sportmaniacs race does not yet have the Live published.
2. Linking with Sportmaniacs
- In the Sportmaniacs card (showing None yet if no race is linked), click Link race.
- In the Link with Sportmaniacs window, log in with your Sportmaniacs user. The session is kept in the browser.
- Search for and select the Sportmaniacs race. Its name is shown in the card.
- Click the publish button (upload icon) next to Change linked Race to publish the Live of all events. You can also publish a single event with the upload button in its row under Live Timing.
The Live is published with the widget version selected in Widget version (default: Latest stable). This allows real-time data generated by the timing device to be displayed live.
3. Live visibility in Sportmaniacs
After publishing the Live and refreshing the page, the Live will be available directly in Sportmaniacs for viewing.
🕒 Until race time, the access button will not change to classifications.
The following video shows step by step how to link the Live with Sportmaniacs:
Video transcript
After activating the live stream for our Copernico race, we will be able to link the race with Sportmaniacs. The race in Sportmaniacs does not currently have live active. If we select with our Sportmaniacs user and we look for the race, we can publish the live within Sportmaniacs. [In the current interface, the card also shows the Widget version selector, which does not appear in the video.]
And if we update our page, we will have the live available directly on Sportmaniacs to view it. Generally, until the race time arrives, we won’t see this button change to classifications.
