Generating a signal from a TSOne or TS2

From the screen menu of a TSOne or TS2, you can generate a signal: a record with the exact time at which you launch it. On these timing devices, the signal is launched from the Waves menu.

You can use a signal to mark, for example, the moment a wave starts or any other moment of the event that you want to record as a reference.

⚠️ Important: although the screen says "Launch wave", generating a signal does not start the wave in Copernico. To use its time as the start time, the timer must start the wave in Copernico: see Starting a wave from Copernico.

1. How to launch a signal

  1. Press the menu key in the upper left corner of the screen.
  2. Tap the Waves menu.
  3. A window appears with the clock time and two options: Yes, launch now! to generate the signal at that moment, or God, no! to cancel.

2. Where to check the time of the signals

You can see the time of each signal on the public page of the timing device: see GunTimes - Public device page. To see the signals of all the timing devices of a race on a single screen, see Group signals panel.

3. How signals are stored

The timing device stores signals together with the tag reads, but as a different type of record: a signal is not a tag read.

This means that signals can be retrieved later by rewinding. See Recovering stored readings both locally and remotely.
